Information about cookies, GDPR and data processing on obrona.mkal.pl.

Data controller

The controller of personal data processed in connection with obrona.mkal.pl is the Museum of the Book Art (Muzeum Książki Artystycznej), ul. Tymienieckiego 24, 90-365 Łódź, Poland; contact: kontakt@mkal.pl, tel. +48 530 235 030.

The website documents the museum's activity, hosts a public discussion (VOICE / ECHO) and maintains a list of signatures supporting the appeal. A technology partner (peterwolf.pl) supports the technical operation of the website without independently determining the purposes for which end-user data is processed.

GDPR — purposes and legal bases

We process data in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council (GDPR) and Polish law.

  1. VOICE / ECHO form: name or pseudonym, email address, contribution, optional attachment and consents — for publication and automatic spam detection (Article 6(1)(a) and (f) GDPR).
  2. Support-signature list: full name, email address, optional city and consents — to maintain the support list and communicate about the appeal (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR).
  3. Technical and security logs: IP address (hashed where applicable) and browser data — to protect the service against abuse (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).
  4. Google Analytics cookies — only with consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR).

Email addresses submitted through forms are not published. A signatory's name is displayed publicly only with separate consent.

Cookies

Essential cookies enable the basic operation of the service, including the administration-panel session, CSRF token and storage of your cookie decision. They do not require consent.

Analytics cookies — Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-8HNHVBWDWV) — count visits and page views in aggregated form. They are enabled only after you select “Accept all” in the cookie banner. You can choose “Essential only” at any time by clearing localStorage for this domain and refreshing the page.

We do not use cookies for advertising profiling or the sale of data.

Your rights

You have the right to access, correct, erase and restrict the processing of your data, to data portability where applicable, to object, and to withdraw consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the President of the Polish Personal Data Protection Office.

For data-related requests, write to kontakt@mkal.pl with “GDPR / obrona.mkal.pl” in the subject line.

Retention period

We retain contributions and signature data for as long as necessary to conduct the discussion and appeal, followed by any period required by law, or until consent is withdrawn or a valid erasure request is made, unless overriding legal grounds apply. Security logs are usually retained for up to 12 months. Google Analytics data is retained according to the administrator's GA4 retention settings.

Recipients and transfers

Data may be entrusted to hosting and maintenance providers and, where analytics consent has been given, to Google Ireland Limited (Google Analytics). Google tools may transfer data to third countries on the basis of standard contractual clauses or other GDPR-compliant mechanisms. We do not sell personal data.
